Black screen in TES IV: Oblivion

I'm sure some of you heard about the game - Oblivion. Today I'm going to help you get rid of an annoying bug.

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion is the best RPG game I have ever played!. We can do everything there! We can be a world saving hero or kill everything that moves.

Yet there is also a problem - it is terribly bugged! It was created in 2006 and it should have had many patches. It has, but many bugs are still make the game crash (what a pity).

Today we are focusing on one pesky bug. It is true that it doesn't corrupt you're saves, but it can really makes you mad. Sometimes you're unable to finish some quests. Yet still we cannot forget about saving ALWAYS.

This glitch exists in some of location, where the game screen would turn black. And it's ONLY the game screen, interface is still working without the problem. What is more, when I changed view from first person point of view to third, I was able to see the world again. An example is on the movie below.

Bug is very popular, but still somehow unknown. It is believed that the reason may be overheated or overclocked graphic card. Personally I have many problems with cooling in my notebook. It is said that the nVidia cards are causing this, especialy from 7xxx and 8xxx series. of which I'm the happy owner

I will show you some ways of solving this issue. For me only 1 of these worked.
  1. Downclock video card
  2. Install new video card drivers
  3. Switch off HDR in options of the launch screen, which appears after you put in a CD.
  4. Install nVidia Black Screen Fix. It's the best if the mod loads first. (Yet after the Unofficial Oblivion Patch if you have it)
  5. Switch off shadows - you have to move "int shadows" bar in video options to 0 value.
  6. It is also said that if the trouble occurs you can workaround it by typing CAL in game console (~). (It never worked for me)
I solved the problem by switching off the shadows. When I changed graphic to very low it stopped too. I think it turned the shadows off and it was the case.

I hope I help you. I encourage for trying Oblivion and I'm sorry for taking so long to upload.
